TAG Heuer Monaco

TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph

Supplier codes: CBW2181.FC8322, CBW2182.FC8339

Breaking the boundaries of timekeeping, meet the TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph, a horological masterpiece. Introducing two timepieces in a sporty red, a nod to the racing DNA of TAG Heuer, as well as a timeless blue, a colour synonymous with the Monaco collection, get ready for a timekeeping achievement that’s one for the history books.

A master in the chronograph function, TAG Heuer have over a century’s experience in curating this signature complication, and in the 1960s, TAG Heuer released a split-seconds chronograph capable of accurately measuring time within 1/10th of a second. The new Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph joins an extensive lineage of exceptional chronographs, and pushes boundaries in its precision and complexity.

Celebrating 55 years of TAG Heuer Monaco, this watch showcases all the trademark features of this collection. From the square shape, left crown, and polished case, the Monaco timepiece became the first ever water resistant square chronograph watch. Now with an altered design, this model is crafted in an equal balance of grade 5 titanium and sapphire crystal glass, an ultra-lightweight construction totalling just 85 grams, with a water resistance of 50m.

The transparent aesthetic gives this timepiece its uniqueness, with a sapphire crystal dial, front glass, and case back. Showcased on the dial are a minute counter at 3 o’clock, seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock which echoes the arches’ shape, and an hour chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. The words ‘Rattrapante’ and ‘Chronograph’ are displayed on the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock sub-dials, as a nod to the ground-breaking functions of this timepiece.

“TAG Heuer has always been committed to pushing the boundaries of timekeeping, and with the introduction of the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph, we are not only embracing our rich heritage but also redefining the future of Haute Horlogerie d’Avant-Garde. This timepiece is the epitome of precision and innovation, a perfect fusion of tradition and cutting-edge technology, showcasing our expertise in watchmaking craftsmanship.” - Julien Tornare, CEO of TAG Heuer.

"More than two weeks of hand-finishing in total on the watch, so we’ve managed to produce something that has all of the DNA and all of the codes, and all of the things that make TAG Heuer such a powerful brand. But we’ve managed to make it in a totally, totally contemporary way and absolutely, ultra high-end, no compromises throughout the project, something that we can be super, super, super proud of." - Nicholas Biebuyck, Heritage Manager at TAG Heuer.

The watches display striking blue and red dial accents, and on the blue timepiece, the dial’s arches are seen in a bold gradient, creating a sense of animation and movement. Starting from a light blue to a deep, royal blue, this tone is created by meticulously applying different voltages to the titanium at different stages of treatment. On the red model, the arches are finished with a black DLC-coating, co-ordinating with the titanium case. Accompanied by a hand-stitched calfskin leather strap with a fabric pattern, TAG Heuer have developed a timepiece that has style, comfortability, and precision that knows no bounds.

“Every component of the watch reflects our passion for horological artistry.” - Carole Forestier-Kasapi, TAG Heuer’s movements director.

Powered by the newly launched TH81-00 calibre, this mechanical split-seconds chronograph movement is crafted entirely in titanium, and is one of the lightest movements ever created by TAG Heuer. The assembly of the split-seconds function requires the most superior expertise and meticulous craftsmanship, and working in collaboration with renowned manufacturer Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, this complication was achieved to unparalleled standards. It can measure two separate time intervals concurrently, making it a desirable and high-tech function.

As TAG Heuer have innovatively given this timepiece a skeleton design, you can see more from the esteemed movement, equipped with a power reserve of 65 hours, through the case back. The mechanism is designed to give the illusion of a floating oscillating weight, and this component has been hand-painted in a vibrant blue or red colour – a feature that’s only given to the most exclusive models. And what’s more is that the checkerboard pattern on the centre bridge and the balance wheel bridge with its polished bevels are all intricately hand-made. Talk about a timepiece with attention to detail!

"The piece de resistance, a watch very close to my heart, the new Monaco, really a new imagining for fine watch making at TAG Heuer, a project more than two years in the making, it’s going to be a limited production of around 40 pieces per year and we have two colourways. We have the red that I’ve got very luckily here with a black case, and we’re also offering a version with natural titanium and blue accents as well. And the other great thing is we’re going to offer customisation out the door, so any client that’s interested in the watch, there’ll also be a possibility to change any elements on the watch to make it really unique to them." - Nicholas Biebuyck, Heritage Manager at TAG Heuer.

Availability of this watch at Beaverbrooks is yet to be confirmed, so if you can't wait any longer, shop similar styles in the Monaco collection.

TAG Heuer Carrera

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph

Supplier code: CBS2216.BA0041

TAG Heuer celebrated 60 years of Carrera last year, and if one thing’s for sure, it’s that the celebrations haven’t stopped just yet. Journeying back to the birth of Carrera in 1963, the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph is a modern take on the original 7753 SN (silver and noir) watch. Paying homage to an icon in the collection’s history, we know some of you TAG Heuer fans will recognise the panda dial, elegant profile, and signature ultra-readability.

A pillar watch in the chronograph scene, the revival of this model is driven by TAG Heuer’s desire to create a perfectly legible racing watch. The clean and simple design is accentuated by stripes down the hour markers, hour and minute hands, double stops at 12 o’clock to indicate when the chronograph is zeroed, and contrasting white dial accents against the black dial. Proving that no one understands the vitalness for accurate timekeeping on the racetrack like TAG Heuer, this timepiece allows the wearer to track racing laps and time like no other.

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph brings the signature black and silver panda dial into the new Glassbox design, a domed sapphire crystal structure that enhances the dial’s readability. The sub-dials feature a minute counter at 3 o’clock, a second indicator at 6 o’clock, and an hour counter at 9 o’clock. And for another stand-out feature on this sporty chronograph? The captivating red sub-dial hands and details, a striking hue amongst the neutral tones. On the curved flange (the piece that elevates the sapphire crystal from the dial), you’ll find a 60-second scale and tachymeter scale, to keep track of time and speed all at once.

The 39mm stainless steel case is reminiscent of the 1970s models, redesigned to complement the flow of the tachymeter scale. The case is home to the in-house chronograph movement Heuer 02, the TH20-00 calibre, which boasts bi-directional winding, a new signature shield-shaped rotor, and impressive power reserve of 80 hours. The stainless steel bracelet is a first on the redesigned Carrera, intertwining with the Glassbox design. A timepiece that honours past models, contemporary elegance, and innovative spirit, it’s a must-have for collectors and sports watch enthusiasts.

"With the new 39mm Glassbox, it’s a watch that we introduced last year for the 60th anniversary of Carrera. Last year we had it with the blue dial and also the reverse panda, and this year we’ve now introduced this panda configuration, taking code from the original reference 7753SN from the late 1960s, adding a little pop of red to some of the hands as well. The other great thing is, now we’ve now offered the stainless steel bracelet, it’s the first time in the 39mm Glassbox, it’s actually going to be available for purchase for those who have previous renditions of this watch, such as the watches from last year or the green DATO that we launched in January." - Nicholas Biebuyck, Heritage Manager at TAG Heuer.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Skipper

Supplier code: CBS2241.FN8023

When the racetrack ventures beyond the land, TAG Heuer have got that covered, too. The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Skipper marks a return to the yacht, with a sense of nautical elegance in the form of an uncompromising, fully functional sailing watch. This timepiece is based on last year’s Carrera Chronograph Skipper, but has the luxurious difference of an 18ct 5N rose gold case, instead of a stainless steel one.

The Carrera Chronograph Skipper story starts back in 1968, when TAG Heuer launched the first model to celebrate the New York Yacht Club’s ‘Intrepid’ victory in the previous year’s America’s Cup. Jack Heuer equipped the team with hand-held yachting timers and Aquastar watches, which inspired the latest addition to this line. By combining a sea-blue dial with contrasting sub-dials, and a countdown mechanism in red and white, TAG Heuer created a distinctive aesthetic to their sailing timepieces.

Taking inspiration from the vibrant colourways of these earlier models, this timepiece features a counter at 9 o’clock in ‘Intrepid Teal’, and a 15-minute regatta counter at 3 o’clock. Crafted to measure the vital countdown of the 15 minutes prior to the starting gun at the beginning of the race, the regatta counter is divided into Lagoon Green (to represent Intrepid’s rigging), Intrepid Teal (the colour of the deck), and Regatta Orange (a tone that has a powerful place in diving and sailing watches due to its legibility underwater). Accompanied by a blue textile strap, and with 18ct 5N rose gold plated hour markers to follow the curves of the flange, it’s a fusion of colour and elegance we can’t take our eyes off. For an extra signature detail, you can even spot the discreet ‘Skipper’ emblem at the bottom of the 12-hour counter on this model.

The timepiece is driven by the in-house column wheel chronograph Heuer 02 movement with vertical clutch, TH20-06 calibre. The movement has been slightly adapted for regatta timing, and boasts a power reserve of 80 hours, along with a new bi-directional rotor in the shape of the TAG Heuer shield symbol. Ensuring legibility when tides get high, the curved blue flange facilitates visibility in harsh conditions. With the regatta countdown at 3 o’clock, second indicator at 6 o’clock, 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock and 60 second scale on the flange, it’s the ultimate sailing and timekeeping partner all in one.

"Another kind of line extension is the rose gold Skipper, so the Skipper we launched last year, taking this amazing sailing DNA that we have from 1968 when we launched the very first version of the Skipper, today one of the most collectable vintage TAG Heuers. The steel was extremely successful again last year, using the same 39mm Glassbox case, and now we’re executing it in rose gold instead. So, it’s an amazing kind of elevation of the Skipper concept." - Nicholas Biebuyck, Heritage Manager at TAG Heuer.
