New Breitling Watches | Celebrating 140 Years of Firsts
This year, Breitling are celebrating a huge milestone of 140 years since they opened their watchmaking doors. And what better way to mark the occasion, than with stories of its many incredible firsts - from breakthroughs in timekeeping for air, land, and sea, to milestones in sustainability.
Throughout the year, Breitling will be spotlighting stories of groundbreaking innovation and the people behind them – and we’ll be taking you on the journey with us. We can’t wait to showcase the milestones in Breitling’s past that helped shaped watchmaking as we know it today.
“A pioneering Swiss watch brand and inventors of the chronograph, a Breitling watch is a truly luxurious timepiece. Whether it’s for yourself or someone special, you’re set up for a lifetime of reliable, precise and outstanding timekeeping.” - Bruce, Head of Luxury Watches.
Breitling Chronograph Perpetual Calendar 140th Anniversary
As part of Breitling’s 140 Years of Firsts campaign, the watchmaker has launched a brand new calibre - the B19 - at Geneva Watch Days 2024. And if you’re wondering why we’re star struck by this remarkable movement, there’s a few features we need to fill you in on, but the most stand-out identifier of the B19 is that it’s the brand’s first ever perpetual calendar chronograph movement.
This means that the timepieces display 1/4th second and 30-minute chronograph counters, alongside a moonphase at 9 o’clock and perpetual calendar. The perpetual calendar function automatically accounts for leap years and corrects its display for leap years and months of 28, 30 and 31 days, meaning this movement can run without any major adjustments for almost a century. Debuting this movement is a member of each of Breitling’s iconic collections, the Premier, Navitimer and Chronomat. All of which are limited edition models, exclusive to only 100 pieces each.
“The Premier, the Navitimer, and the Chronomat are the most impactful collections in Breitling’s history. We couldn’t single one out to showcase the new Calibre B19 for our anniversary—it had to be all three.” – Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling.
With a boast-worthy power reserve of 98 hours, the calibre B19 is COSC-certified, and showcases unprecedented precision thanks to a 18ct solid gold rotor, column wheel, and vertical clutch. With each piece showcasing a skeletonised caseback, you can take a look at this Breitling-first movement, and you’ll even see the rotor decorated with an engraving of Breitling’s historic Montbillant Manufactory, which served as the watchmaker’s studio for over 80 years.
“With the Calibre B19 and our anniversary limited editions, we’re making history again. This launch is about being as groundbreaking as our 140 Years of Firsts demand.” – Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling.
It’s safe to say, Breitling have gone all out for this new cutting-edge movement - we expected nothing less from the inventors of the chronograph themselves!

Joining the line-up of celebratory watches for Breitling’s 140th anniversary are new additions to the Navitimer collection. Known today as one of the most recognisable timepieces since it launched in 1952, this iconic collection of tool watches first started out as a wristwatch for pilots to navigate their course thanks to its combination of chronograph and computational slide rule design. Able to determine fuel consumption, climb and descent rates, and speed, amongst many other calculations, the Breitling Navitimer very quickly turned into a timepiece that was on every luxury watch collector’s list.
Deemed their most versatile Navitimer yet, the Swiss watch brand are honouring this iconic collection with the Breitling Navitimer Automatic 41 and Breitling Navitimer Automatic GMT 41 watches. Even without a chronograph, they’ve managed to preserve a balanced dial composition, whilst the central placement of the 24-hour scale on the GMT and the Automatic’s clean face ensures the intricate slide rule still stands out.
Further refining the collection is the notched bezel with alternating polished and brushed finishes for a dynamic play of light. Choose between alligator leather or bracelet straps, 18ct red gold or stainless steel construction and an array of black, blue, green or white dials for a timepiece that’s contemporary and tailored to your style. We love this reinvention of a classic, marrying Breitling’s commitment to heritage and innovation into each timepiece.
Breitling Aerospace B70 25th Anniversary Edition
First nonstop balloon flight around the world
Supplier codes: EB70101A1O1S1, EB70101A1O1E1.
Between 1970 and 1988 when the quartz crisis hit the Swiss mechanical watch industry, Breitling decided to use this as an opportunity and looked into creating new technology. The outcome? Breitling’s Professional collection of rugged, digital-analog adventure watches, which went on to accompany Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones on their world-record nonstop balloon flight around the world in 1999.
Sailing an incredible 45,633km in the Breitling Oribter 3 balloon, the duo managed to break the world record - navigating winds, weather and air traffic through the Swiss Alps. Fast forward to today, 25 years later, and Breitling have released a new Aerospace B70 Orbiter watch to mark the historic occasion.
Inspired by the Orbiter’s capsule, this Breitling Aerospace B70 25th Anniversary Edition timepiece is crafted in titanium with a bright orange dial and choice of either black rubber strap or titanium bracelet. Powered by a multi-functional quartz movement - the COSC-certified B70 SuperQuartz™ manufacture calibre - it features dual LCD display screens and a long list of functions, including a 1/100th of a second, countdown timer, second timezone, two alarms, lap function, and perpetual calendar.
And best of all, each watch contains its very own piece of history: a fragment of the original balloon visible through the open caseback. Keep your eyes peeled as they’re coming soon to Beaverbrooks.

Breitling Avenger Red Arrows
Supplier codes: A173281A1C1A1, A173281A1C1X1, SB01475A1C1X1.
Commemorating 60 years of the Royal Air Force Red Arrows, Breitling are continuing their 34 year partnership with the iconic Aerobatic Team with three new watches. The masterful displays performed by the Red Arrows require expert levels of precision, skill and accuracy, and no one understands the importance of this in the world of aviation like Breitling. The three new launches are just as legendary as they sound.
The Breitling Avenger Auto 42 Red Arrows 60th Anniversary Edition watch comes in two variations, one with a stainless steel bracelet, and the other with a navy military leather strap, but it’s the dial that really stands out for us. A navy blue dial is enhanced with white accents and red highlights, blending all the famous colours of the Red Arrows seamlessly. The Red Arrows crest is seen at 9 o’clock, and the tributes to the 60th anniversary of the Red Arrows doesn’t stop there.
Limited to 360 pieces, each timepiece features the 60th Anniversary display along with the limited edition number engraved onto the caseback. Crafted in a stainless steel case, these timepieces boast a water resistance of 300m, with the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 17 at the heart, providing a power reserve of 38 hours. It’s safe to say, these watches are prepared for the extreme environments found in the cockpits of some of the most daring jets in the world.
The captivating Red Arrows deserve an equally show-stopping timepiece, and we know that this Breitling Avenger B01 Chronograph 44 Red Arrows watch definitely lives up to expectations. Honing what Breitling does best, their legendary chronograph, take a look at the sub-dial at 9 o’clock in which you’ll find a replica of the Red Arrow’s emblematic ‘Diamond 9’ formation. If one thing’s for sure, it’s that this limited edition model is a must-have for aviation enthusiasts and collectors.
The dial honours all the vibrant colours of the Red Arrows, with a navy blue dial, white hands and hour markers, and red detailing. Paired with a military leather navy blue strap, it’s the black sub-dials that are truly eye-catching. Crafted in a blend of titanium and ceramic, the 44mm case is lightweight and resilient, holding the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01 as its roaring engine. With a power reserve of 70 hours, you can even observe this outstanding movement through the watch’s skeleton caseback.

The new Breitling Chronomat 42 Titanium has been crafted in ultra-lightweight titanium with 42mm case size and instantly recognisable bezel with its four rider tabs at the 15-minute marks. Not forgetting the signature Rouleaux bracelet (or rubber strap) and the in-house Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01 which powers the timepiece. A truly impressive COSC-Certified chronometer that’s coming soon to Beaverbrooks.
