One To Watch | TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300

Back and better than ever, we’re so excited to introduce you to the highly anticipated TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 from this year’s Watches & Wonders event.

The Aquaracer collection has connected us to the seas for over 40 years, and this new generation of timepieces definitely goes beyond the edge. Expect to discover a whole new look, new materials, and a brand-new lease of life.

The Aquaracer reborn

A legacy that started back in 1978 with the Heuer Ref. 844 watch, the Aquaracer set the standards for a reliable diver’s watch which is used and loved by professional and recreational divers all over the world.

Since then, TAG Heuer have continued to push the limits with its beloved Aquaracer collection, forever revaluating the design and performance for a bold and unmistakable aesthetic, blended with high functionality. The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 promises to go with you anywhere, even to the extremes.

Improved signature details

The previous Aquaracer was iconic for six signature features; unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, water resistance to at least 200m, luminous markings, a sapphire crystal glass and double safety clasp. All these details remain in the new timepieces, some with a new twist. Let’s find out…

Keeping the signature 12 faceted rotating bezel, the new Aquaracer has an integrated scratch resistant ceramic insert which flutes each of the facets, making it easy to grip and turn. Not only that, but the internal structure of the bezel has been re-engineered so that the rotating mechanism is much smoother, quieter and easier to set.

The bezel inspired further updates to the Aquaracer’s signature details. The 12-sided crown has a softer more rounded crown protection that cups the crown in a style reminiscent of the Heuer Ref. 844 and the water resistance reaches a huge 300m. For low-light conditions, the Super-LumiNova has been upgraded to two different colours – green differentiates the hour hand and hour markers from the minutes hand, which is blue.

Finally, the sapphire crystal glass has been upgraded with a magnifier over the date window at 6 o’clock. However, instead of placing this on the outside, the magnifier sits on the underside of the glass for a smooth surface. How cool?!

New generation

With all the new improvements, the Aquaracer Professional 300 meets its objective of being adaptable to multiple environments. Now much thinner and lighter than before, the case, bezel and metal bracelet have all been slimmed down. The lugs are also shorter, and the symmetrical, polished case edge finishes it off for a sophisticated profile that sits comfortably on the wrist.

Completing the design update of the new generation, TAG Heuer have returned to the famous scaphander diving suit motif that first appeared on the Aquaracer case back in 2004. Taking inspiration of the signature faceted bezel, the diving helmet is now more angular with an added 12-faceted faceplate - a hexagonal motif in the background allows it to stand out.
