We’re Officially The Best Large Company To Work For In The UK!

We can’t quite believe we’re writing this, but Beaverbrooks has taken the top spot in the prestigious 100 Best Companies to Work For list 2021! We are officially the Best Company to Work For in the UK and we’re beyond proud. 

We’ve featured prominently in the list for 18 consecutive years, and we last took the top spot in 2009. Eleven years later and Beaverbrooks is back at number one.

World class levels of workplace engagement 

We’re also the only organisation in Best Companies’ history to be awarded a three-star accreditation for workplace engagement for 16 years running – the highest standard reflecting ‘world class’ levels of workplace engagement. Yep, you read that right – world class! 

This achievement means even more to us after what has been an extremely challenging year of adapting to change amidst the pandemic. We are very proud of how we responded as a company – staying true to our core purpose of ‘Enriching Lives’, which simply means making a positive difference to the world we live in, and retaining our core culture and values. Beaverbrooks has never felt more like a family - we’ve supported each other, cared for each other, listened to each other and ultimately became closer and stronger than ever.

Keeping our colleagues engaged 

We ensured our colleagues felt involved and engaged with the business and any decisions made whilst working from home or on furlough, as well as increasing our focus on wellbeing. And, due to our strong performance, it meant we were able to retain jobs for all our colleagues, pay Christmas bonuses and guarantee 100% salaries in the first lockdown whilst enhancing furlough pay above the 80% government rate since June.

Continuing our charitable work 

We also felt really strongly about continuing to ‘Enrich Lives’ through our charitable activities; we actually donated £1.5millon to charities throughout the pandemic via the Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust. And, in case you didn’t know just how important our charity work is to us, since the year 2000 we’ve donated over £16.3m to over 750 charities.
