Our Favourite Limited Edition Watches

Limited edition watches have always created excitement amongst watch enthusiasts, but this year, they’re bigger and better than ever. There’s always a high demand for luxury watches that have something extra special about them. Knowing there’s only a limited number of a certain watch available and that it won’t be around forever of course makes it extra desirable. Limited edition watches are a great investment piece too and a watch collector’s dream.

The demand for limited edition watches is always high because of their exclusivity and originality, and Bruce, our Head of Watches, is all for it…

“We always love special editions and in particular limited edition watches as well. Customers love to have something that they know is a little bit different, often with a story behind it. The launch of a limited edition watch really does create a lot of excitement and lots of storytelling and uniqueness.” - Bruce, Head of Watches.

What is a limited edition watch?

A limited edition watch means that a brand has decided to make a limited quantity of a certain watch. This obviously makes it more desirable, as you know that once they’re gone, they’re gone, and they won’t be made again. It means only you and a certain amount of people will be lucky enough to get your hands on that particular limited edition watch.

With brands like Breitling, Raymond Weil and Seiko releasing must-have limited edition watches for collectors and watch enthusiasts to treasure, let’s take a look at some of our favourites (and soon to be your favourites too, no doubt!)…

1. Breitling Limited Edition Avenger B01 Chronograph 44mm Red Arrows Ceramic Men’s Watch

Limited to only 100 pieces worldwide, this timepiece pays homage the watchmaker’s role in being an official partner of the Royal Air Force Red Arrows. Breitling crafted three limited edition watches to commemorate 60 years of the iconic Aerobatic Team. This Breitling Limited Edition Avenger B01 Chronograph 44mm Red Arrows Ceramic Men’s Watch showcases features such as the emblematic ‘diamond 0’ formation performed by the Red Arrows in the sub dial at 9 o’clock, and the vibrant blues, whites and reds of the team.

The collection of Red Arrows limited edition Breitling watches captures the spirit and courageousness of the Royal Air Force, staying true to its values of strength and commitment. The precision and skill required by the team is matched in the COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre 01 automatic movement that drives this timepiece. This limited edition watch is truly an exclusive treasure, crafted in a 44mm titanium case with a leather strap for performance and durability in one.

As well as Breitling’s signature chronograph movement, you’ll also find a unidirectional rotating bezel, skeleton caseback, power reserve of 70 hours and water resistance of 300m on this high-flying limited edition watch.

2. Seiko Limited Edition Presage Cocktail Time ‘Purple Sunset’ Automatic Men’s Watch

This truly unique and beautiful watch is limited to 9,000 pieces, and it’s clear that Seiko knew they were creating something special with this Seiko Limited Edition Presage Cocktail Time ‘Purple Sunset’ Automatic Men’s Watch. This limited edition watch was made to celebrate a ‘Nomunication Hour’, a hybrid of nomu (drink) and communication, inspired by ‘cocktail hour’; a time to talk when enjoying cocktails with friends.

All Seiko limited edition watches are crafted with original Japanese flair and heritage, and this timepiece is no different. Its alluring aesthetic comes from the cocktail mixed by Hisashi Kishi, head bartender of Star Bar in Tokyo’s Ginza area. It’s the dreamy dial, Dauphine-style hands, and sophisticated leather strap that make this one a statement elegant dress watch.

Driven by the automatic RW4200 movement, this limited edition watch boasts a power reserve of 38 hours.
