What makes jewellery sweat proof?
Sweatproof jewellery is made with materials and finishes that are resistant to tarnishing, corrosion and discolouration when exposed to sweat and moisture.
It all starts with the base metal (what’s on the inside) with metals such as sterling silver and stainless steel, which are naturally more resistant to moisture. Then we have the outside layer, which is usually a thick layer of bonded gold plating or PVD (physical vapour deposition) providing better protection against wear than traditional gold plating.
Regular jewellery that isn’t designed for workouts, will struggle to keep up with you, and wearing those pieces regularly will leave them looking dull, faded and discoloured over time.
