Marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan and celebrated as one of the two biggest Islamic celebrations of the year, Eid al-Fitr is just around the corner. The month of fasting ends with this holiday, otherwise known as the Festival of Breaking Fast.
The Islamic calendar operates on the lunar cycle, meaning that Eid falls on a different date each year. In 2024, Eid al-Fitr is expected to take place on or near 9th April, as the sighting of the moon will determine the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
