Breitling Chronomat Six Nations Watches | Official Timekeeper of Six Nations Rugby

Calling all rugby fans! The Six Nations Rugby is in full swing and in celebration of being the Official Timekeeper, Swiss watch brand Breitling have re-released a limited-series of Chronomat timepieces. Seen for the first time last year, we’re reintroducing the Breitling Chronomat Six Nations watches.

These exceptional timepieces are making us even more excited for all the action to commence, and with the new Six Nations Netflix documentary ‘Full Contact’, you can get even more from the highly anticipated event this year.

Whether you’re into rugby, a Breitling lover or luxury watch collector, these exclusive watches are as iconic as the Chronomat collection itself. Dedicated to the unions that make up the Six Nations Rugby, there’s a unique timepiece for each of the six teams - all of which are limited to 150 pieces.

With both Breitling and Six Nations Rugby guided by the core values of courage, solidarity, inclusion, integrity, and creativity, it makes for a partnership that will stand the test of time. And we’re especially excited to talk you through the home nation watches; England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Are you ready? Let the games begin…

An all-purpose sports watch

So, why choose the Chronomat collection for this limited series? Well, originally designed as the official watch of the Frecce Tricolori (the famed Italian aerobatics squadron), it instantly became popular amongst aviators. Functions such as the tachymeter then began to attract the interest of Formula 1 teams, and its reversible rider tabs made it ideal for diving and yachting.

The Chronomat eventually became Breitling’s most-loved sports watch, associated with those who pushed the limits in the air, on land and at sea. Perfect for the fast and fearless world of rugby, right?!

“The Breitling Chronomat collection is known for its bold aesthetic, robust construction and brilliant performance - all of which are needed for a great sports watch. We’ve also seen high demand for limited editions and these timepieces are sure to be loved, even after the Six Nations!” - Bruce, Head of Watches.

Breitling Chronomat Six Nations watches

Featuring all the signature Chronomat characteristics that are loved by many sports enthusiasts (the raised rider tabs, easy-grip onion crown, triple-register dial with integrated date and the classic rouleaux bracelet), the Chronomat Six Nations watches set themselves apart by dials that boast the individual union’s colours. The team logo is positioned in the sub dial at 9 o’clock, and the case back is specially engraved with the name of each union, “Six Nations” and the “ONE OF 150” limitation. So you can own a watch that supports your home team, the winning team, or just as a collectable.

With a 42mm stainless steel case size and unidirectional bezel, each watch is powered by Breitling’s in-house automatic Manufacture Calibre 01 with an impressive power reserve of up to 70 hours. We have to also mention its 200m water resistance, making it a watch you won’t want to take off, and you won’t need to either.

Breitling Chonomat B01 42 Six Nations Wales

Wales will be the first host of the Six Nations Rugby and what better way to pay homage to that than this special timepiece. With a deep burgundy dial and black sub dials, the green touches can be seen on the hands whilst the Wales Rugby logo sits nicely in one of the sub dials. Breitling Chonomat B01 42 Six Nations Scotland

Much like the Ireland watch, the Six Nations Scotland timepiece boasts a bold blue dial for instantly recognisable style. We love the vibrance of the blue for a luxurious look, with lighter blue hands for a subtle contrast. The Scotland Rugby logo sits in the same place as the previous watches, proudly in one of the three white sub dials. Time to meet the squad

Did we mention there’s also a new Breitling Rugby Squad? Providing personality behind this new collection is a team of notable players from the six nations, all of which represent the Chronomat in their home countries. Selected for their performance-driven character and relaxed off-pitch style, each watch suits the player perfectly.
