DOXA SUB 200 C-GRAPH II and DOXA ARMY | NEW DOXA Watches
A brand renowned for entering new depths with timepieces fit for professional divers, DOXA continues to impress with new releases this year. Their execution of watches that double as both essential pieces of diving equipment, and fashionable wristwear, remains something that - in true DOXA style - we love to explore!
For luxury watch and diving enthusiasts alike, two new timepieces have been added to the DOXA SUB 200 C-GRAPH and DOXA ARMY collections. Having an extensive background in manufacturing watches for the deep underwater, we always know to expect the best from DOXA. Let’s dive in.
DOXA SUB 200 C-GRAPH II
DOXA shows us exactly the extent of its manufacturing ability in the SUB 200 C-GRAPH II. Crafting a watch for extreme sports means leaving no stone unturned, and in the SUB 200 C-GRAPH II, DOXA made sure the timepiece was fit for the deepest of dives. A watch made for risk-takers and explorers; the timepiece is a tool that makes an essential finishing touch for experienced divers with an assembly of high-tech equipment.
With diving in mind, DOXA knew what to do when constructing a diver’s wristwear. Starting with highest quality 316L stainless steel, the goal was to create a smaller and more compact version of the watch’s sibling, released in 2020. With a new 42mm case with a thickness of 15.85mm, the watch already exemplifies the same high-performing mechanism in a more condensed case.
The SUB 200 C-GRAPH II features a mechanical automatic chronograph movement, to ensure utmost accuracy for divers. With time being of the essence for anyone who is deep-sea diving, accurate timekeeping is vital. The timepiece has three counters to keep track of dive times, and a unidirectional rotating bezel with the minute indication. A 200 metre water resistance, and 56 hour long power reserve, also ensure its role as a reliable piece of diving equipment.
Acknowledging the limited natural light in some areas underwater, features of the dial have a Super-Luminova coating, to make sure that the time can be read in all environments. The sapphire crystal dial is a key feature of dial visibility too, preventing the watch face from being scratched or broken. The SUB 200 C-GRAPH II comes with a choice of a robust stainless steel bracelet or a lightweight rubber strap, for utmost protection whilst diving.
The model comes in six colours, white, black, navy, light blue, orange, and yellow. The SUB 200 C-GRAPH II STEEL features a coloured dial, whereas the SUB 200 C-GRAPH II RUBBER also incorporates colour into its dial and rubber strap. Featuring a variety of styles that are equally as elegant underwater as they are in a suburban environment, the dial showcases a sunray motif. The luminous effect echoes the watch’s vintage spirit, emerging from the centre of the dial, mimicking rays from the sun.
DOXA ARMY
A collection that has been iconic for 50 years, DOXA ARMY celebrates its partnership with the elite Swiss Army Divers unit with watches fit for the most extreme. This watch meets all the needs of a Swiss Army diver, with its recognisable style, underwater resilience, and outstanding endurance, it’s certainly a cult diver’s timepiece.
This model follows all the features of a traditional DOXA ARMY watch, with a subtle touch of modernity. Classic design includes a 42.50mm stainless steel case, and a protective sapphire crystal dial cover. Hour, minutes, and second markers are coated in Super-Luminova, for optimum readability in the darkest underwater places. The durable case holds a Swiss mechanical automatic movement, with a power reserve of 38 hours.
An essential yet impressive water resistance of 300 metres, this timepiece is a reliable one for risk-takers. This model, however, is unique to other models because of its unidirectional rotating bezel in stainless steel, combined with a hunter green ceramic inlay. A design element newly explored by DOXA, the combination incorporates a new change to the traditional DOXA ARMY dial.
Innovative style doesn’t stop there with the DOXA ARMY. The DOXA ARMY stainless steel comes with a stainless steel bracelet for a stronger and sleeker watch. The DOXA ARMY RUBBER showcases a black or green rubber strap, the green shadowing the hunter green featured in the ceramic inlay, for a lighter and more durable model. Sophisticated and high-performing, this watch is for those with an adventurous spirit. Inspired by elite Swiss Army divers, is there anything this watch isn’t prepared for?
