Watches & Wonders 2022 | New TUDOR Watches
The highly anticipated Watches & Wonders event has arrived and TUDOR have added not one, not two, but five new releases to their iconic collections.
Building on their heritage and their reputation for emblematic designs inspired by bold adventurers, the luxury brand are presenting a brand new TUDOR Black Bay Pro model with an entirely new design, an S&G version of the Black Bay GMT model, as well as new additions to the Black Bay Chrono S&G, the Black Bay 31/36/39/41 S&G and TUDOR Royal collection.
So, let’s not tease any longer. Here’s a closer look at the new models, certainly set to take the watch industry by storm…
TUDOR Black Bay Pro
Meet the new technical watch with a brand new aesthetic - the Black Bay Pro. Featuring a Manufacture Calibre MT5652 that’s COSC-certified with a silicon balance spring, you can also enjoy a 70-hour power reserve and built-in GMT function. The 39mm case features a fixed steel bezel and a dual time zone feature. This new watch is compact, robust and sporty.
The dual time zone feature is a technical complication, allowing you to keep sight of local time with losing sight of the time in another time zone. Celebrating and reflecting on the technical TUDOR watches throughout history, this new watch stands out for its recognisable 24-hour graduated satin-brushed fixed bezel and the iconic 24-hour ‘Snowflake’ hand in yellow. The winding crown has also been entirely redesigned for maximum grip.
The aesthetically pleasing domed dial comes in grained matt black with monobloc luminous ceramic applied hour markers for excellent readability in the dark and extreme conditions. The satin-brushed and polished case is complemented with a choice of three bracelet designs in either a black Jacquard fabric, hybrid rubber and fabric or riveted steel with a TUDOR T-fit clasp and rapid adjustment.
A tool-watch designed for professional use, the new Black Bay Pro model reflects TUDOR’s impressive heritage, recognising previous models such as the Oyster Prince that was tested by 30 explorers in the Arctic who endeavoured the two-year British North Greenland Expedition.
It's clear to see the Black Bay Pro watch is an instrument that’s inspired by pioneering explorers.
TUDOR Black Bay GMT S&G
Next up, let us introduce the S&G (Steel & Gold) version of the iconic Black Bay GMT model with integrated Manufacture Calibre GMT, offering warm colours and a nostalgic touch.
This beautifully designed model features multiple time zones - a highly functional complication that shows local time without losing sight of the time in two other time zones.
This watch will be instantly recognised by its 24-hour graduated rotating bezel in two luxurious colours to represent day and night. The satin-brushed and polished case is designed in stainless steel and yellow gold and comes in at 41mm.
With its three time zones function, view the reference time with the angular ‘Snowflake’ hand (an iconic hallmark of TUDOR) completing a lap of the dial every 24 hours. The local time is indicated by a second shorter ‘Snowflake’ hand that’s set by a jumping hour. The date window is connected to the local time hand, so when setting the time and passing midnight, it instantly jumps to the previous day.
The 24-hour graduated bidirectional rotating bezel and ‘24-hour’ hand mean you can keep track of a third time zone too.
View the gold-coloured twelve daylight hours on the brown part of the bezel, whilst the night-time hours sit on the black section. To complement the luxurious case, you can choose from either a steel and gold bracelet, jacquard-woven strap or leather strap.
Illustrating the unique technical development process that TUDOR undergo for every watch, this model features the Manufacture Calibre MT5656 with built-in GMT function, developed by TUDOR especially for this watch. The movement ensures robustness, reliability, precision, longevity with its certified status as a chronometer by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), going above and beyond the standards set by the independent institute.
With around 70 hours power reserve too, this watch is weekend proof for all your adventures.
