The best ways to propose this Christmas
1. Winter walk
If walking is something you and your partner enjoy doing together, choose your favourite destination and brave the cold fresh air for a beautiful winter walk.

Take a flask of tea (or mulled wine if you fancy being extra festive!) to warm up before finding the perfect romantic spot to get down on one knee. You could even set up your camera on timer to take a picture of you both amongst the stunning scenery, and just before it flashes, capture you asking her the most important question.
2. Light it up
The time when the Christmas celebrations really get going, decorating your house and switching all the lights on marks the perfect time to start a festive season filled with celebrations.

6. Decorate the tree
One of the top Christmas traditions, decorating the tree is when the magic of Christmas is truly invited into your home. This Christmas, set the tone for decorating the best tree ever with some Christmas music, mulled wine and a toasty fire.
Surprise them with a personalised bauble that has the magic question written on it, or suggest that you’ve got the perfect finishing touch to add just the right amount of sparkle and show them the beautiful ring.

7. Christmas countdown
Advent calendars are a treasured part of many people’s countdown to Christmas; let’s face it, who doesn’t love having a bit of chocolate every day? To make this super cute Christmas engagement idea work, you can either replace the chocolate behind the last door with a beautiful diamond ring, or go the extra mile and make your very own advent calendar.

If you think your loved one may be expecting you to pop the question on Christmas Day, why not keep them on their toes and carry the celebrations on with a Boxing Day proposal.
Wrap the ring up in a beautifully wrapped box and tell them there’s one special present you saved to give them. Once they open it to find the ring box, ask them to marry you.
11. The best stocking filler ever
On Christmas morning after you’ve opened all the presents around the tree, sneakily place the ring and the ring box inside their stocking. Gather around the fireplace as you ask your loved one to see what’s inside their stocking and get down on one knee as they pull out the ring box.

Invite all your nearest and dearest, decorate the house in full Santa’s grotto style and plan lots of festive games. It’s completely up to you. The old myth says you should spend three months salary on an engagement ring, but that absolutely does not have to be the case.
