Introducing | Omega James Bond 'Commander’s Watch'
This year marks the anniversaries of several James Bond films, including the 20th anniversary of ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ – in which 007’s rank as Commander is a substantial part of the story line.
Avid James Bond fans will be well aware of 007’s portrayal as Commander in the Royal Navy, specifically in ‘You Only Live Twice’, ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ and ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ when Bond is shown in his Royal Navy uniform.
In celebration of this, as well as marking the 50th anniversary of ‘You Only Live Twice’, the 40th anniversary of ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ and, as we’ve just mentioned, the 20th anniversary of ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, Omega have launched the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 'Commander’s Watch' Limited Edition.
The watch of choice for James Bond since 1995’s Golden Eye, Omega Seamasters have accompanied 007 on every adventure, giving the world’s most famous secret agent a piece of equipment he can always rely on.
This new Omega Seamaster 'Commander’s Watch' salutes Bond’s military history with the colours of the British Royal Navy, showcasing touches of white, blue and red throughout to create an iconic and noble look.
Fastened with a blue, red and grey NATO strap, this Commander’s Watch features a 41mm stainless steel case adorned with a blue ceramic bezel. Red rubber covers the first 15 minutes.
Detailing nodding to James Bond on the white ceramic dial includes the 007 gun counterweight on the central seconds hand and the red number 7 in the date window – all the other numbers are coloured blue.
On the wave-edged caseback, the stripes of the Commander’s naval insignia are featured on the rotor of the new Omega Calibre 2507, and there’s also a central 9mm “bullet” design to finish off the 007 touch.
Limited to just 7,007 pieces, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 'Commander’s Watch' comes in a special presentation box that takes inspiration from a real military medal case. The box also contains a stainless steel bracelet, a changing tool and a “naval” pin that mirrors the design of the NATO strap.
