Wedding Spotlight | Contemporary & Regal

We absolutely love hearing wedding stories from our lovely customers. This month we were thrilled to hear from Karen in Bottesford as she captured our hearts with her beautiful wedding photographs. She also tells us how she was involved with the design of her Beaverbrooks wedding ring and inspired our buyers to create a brand new collection.

Karen and Jamie had a whirlwind romance. They met via online dating and after just 6 special months together, they knew they had found the one. Jamie popped the question at a grand country estate with a very romantic setting of formal Dutch and Italian gardens surrounding the mansion. He’d even taken Karen’s favourite champagne ready to toast and celebrate afterwards. We like your style Jamie!

When it came to choosing her wedding ring, Karen knew this wouldn’t be easy due to her line of work. As she works as a Radiographer, this means she isn’t allowed to wear a ring with any stones in it. This can be the case for many working within the health sector. One thing Karen did know however, was she definitely wanted some sparkle rather than a plain wedding band.

Luckily, Karen visited the NEC Wedding Fair in Birmingham. At this point she was considering having a bespoke wedding ring made until she bumped into Lorna – our expert Beaverbrooks buyer.

Lorna listened to Karen’s predicament about her wedding ring and then went away with her ideas and suggestions and went on to create a range of shaped sparkle cut wedding rings after Karen’s feedback. “We love listening to our customers and taking inspiration from you.” Lorna Haddon, Diamond Ring and Jewellery Buyer. "We really do value our customers feedback and are often inspired by the people we meet."

We were so pleased to hear this ring suited the needs of Karen, and she loves the way her wedding ring sparkles and catches the light - even when it's worn on its own.

Our sparkle cut rings are very special. These clever rings feature a bevelled design that creates a stunning dazzling effect without using any stones, making this the perfect choice for Karen or anyone else with similar requirements.

When it came to planning the big day, they planned a relaxed and contemporary, yet regal theme. Their small and intimate civil ceremony took place within the Marble Hall at Belton House – the same place Jamie proposed. How romantic!

After a champagne reception in the orangery, everyone was whisked off to a relaxed and informal evening reception with Mojito cocktails waiting for the ladies and a selection of chilled bottle beers for the gents. The laid-back theme was also carried across for the food as everyone tucked into cones of fish or chicken goujons and mini spring rolls with chips. (Yum!)

They both looked amazing and we love the vintage glamour feel of their stunning photographs. Karen’s dress is absolutely stunning and it's clear to see how much fun they had on their big day.

Karen gave us some top tips for planning a wedding..."Don't feel that you have to stick to tradition just to please people. Be organised, shop around and don't be afraid to barter."

She also gave us some excellent tips for choosing a wedding ring...“Try on lots of different styles and widths to see what suits you."

“Try it on both on its own and with your engagement ring, in case like me you can’t wear your engagement ring all the time."

“You want your wedding ring to complement your engagement ring and not detract from it. Take your time and make sure it’s the one because you’re going to be wearing it for the rest of your life."

We completely agree with Karen on finding ‘the one’. A wedding ring is a symbol of everlasting love and will remind you of your special day for the rest of your life, so it makes sense to choose carefully and not rush into it.

Karen’s top tip for choosing your wedding ring: “You want your wedding ring to complement your engagement ring and not detract from it. Take your time and make sure it’s the one…”
