How We Created A Very Royal Proposal
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship heats up, we’re all waiting with bated breath for the UK’s most highly anticipated proposal.
Because we’re passionate about proposals and love a good engagement story here at Beaverbrooks, we wanted to bring our Prince Harry proposal predictions to life and so with the help of two professional lookalikes, here’s how we created a very Royal Proposal…
Choosing The Right Ring
We know that any good proposal story starts with an engagement ring and so we gave his Royal Highness our usual exceptional Beaverbrooks treatment to help Harry find the perfect ring (over a glass of champers or two!) at our brand new Westfield Stratford store – just a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace.
When considering what ring to buy your loved one, we always ask our customers about their partner’s style and personality and so we looked at Meghan’s typical jewellery choices during red carpet appearances, as well as articles on her preferred style/taste.
As Meghan is often spotted wearing statement eye-catching jewellery pieces, we thought that a ring featuring a halo of brilliant diamonds around a central stone would create the perfect eye-catching piece.
We opted for a unique design to align with Meghan’s individuality and chose this stunning Platinum Diamond Marquise Ring, which has a popular vintage-inspired feel with its polished platinum band and elegant marquise-shaped diamond. Want to know what engagement ring style you are? Find out here.
A beautiful backdrop plays a huge role for the perfect proposal and like any engagement, we carefully planned all aspects of this Royal proposal.
We wanted to give Meghan a proposal she’d never forget and so tapping into Harry’s British heritage, we decided that the London Eye would be the ideal location for the Prince to get on bended knee.
It’s the little things that make a proposal extra special and so we made sure we waited until we got to the very top of the London Eye where there was a spectacular view of the capital with Big Ben in the background. We also made sure there were glasses of bubbly ready to celebrate when Meghan said “Yes!”
Spreading The News
It’s common now for betrothed couples to conjure up a creative image to post on social media to help with their announcement (yes they called the Royals first to tell them the good news!) and so the loved-up duo were seen taking a selfie on Southbank.
What Meghan Wore
Meghan has an impressive jewellery collection and isn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd with a range of eye-catching pieces.
We dressed the Princess-to-be in this stunning Dance by Beaverbrooks 9ct White Gold Diamond Pendant along with these classic 18ct White Gold Diamond Stud Earrings and to complete the look, this complementary 9ct White Gold Diamond Bangle.
Continuing the diamond theme (what else for a Princess-to-be?!) we chose this TAG Heuer Carrera Diamond Ladies Watch.
What Harry Wore
Prince Harry couldn't leave the Beaverbrooks store without our Head of Retail, Simon Smith, trying to sell him this exquisite TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 18ct Rose Gold And Titanium Automatic Chronograph Men’s Watch.
We think it's only a matter of time before Prince Harry gets down on one knee, and we cannot wait to see what the big moment involves! Keep an eye out in your local Beaverbrooks store to see if you spot Prince Harry choosing a ring...
